  This place is terrific.
  My wife and I wanted to find someplace new and different to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We chose The Lounge by Lignum and were not disappointed. The decor is modern yet provides a relaxed atmosphere. The food was fabulous and the chef really does a great job making everything new and interesting. The service was very attentive with out being too much. We would definitely return to this gem in Peterborough.

  So much potential, but not quite what we hoped. Visited Saturday night with my husband. The decor is beautiful with the exposed brick and wood tables and bar- I believe and owner is a carpenter and it shows! They had a very talented singer with a beautiful voice when we arrived that provided great atmosphere. The atmosphere seemed to go steadily downhill as we were there- the singer stopped and there were many people coming in and out for Cigarettes and hanging around the bar drinking beer. The wine selection is decent, however I would say it isnt anything special and the price for a 6oz glass was a little steep. The food and small plates were good and can honestly say that everything tasted great, BUT again for the price it was lacking. We split an $18 cheese and meat board and it was very underwhelming.. store bought gerkins, store bought pickled onions, balderson cheddar.. and not much of it. Again it tasted good and was nicely presented, but was nothing exceptional. Other comments- our server was new and not educated on anything in the menu.... and with a small specialized menu you think the staff would be well trained. Overall we enjoyed our night out, but likely will not return.
